For the 7-8 class, I will have multiple projects you can make using our Stampin' Around Wheels.  They are quick and easy and make creating projects a breeze!  Some, like the one above are also using the same set as my "set sampler" class.  If you attend the express and the "set sampler" class, you can add the cards from the express class to your set. *(I posted on Jan 12th with another card sample from this class)

 

For the 8-9 class, we will continue with what we learned in the first hour and add the "Highlighting" technique to the mix.  Just one simple adjustment can add such flair to your projects!  Again, there will be multiple projects with a different twist to each.  You won't want to miss it!  *(I posted on Jan 18th with a card sample from this class)

Express Class Step it Up! card sample

For my January Express Class Step It Up!, I am doing a "Wheels with Highlighting" class.  We will make multiple cards all using Wheels with the highlighting technique.  Below I have included a card we will be making that night.  I will post other cards from this class in the next week or so, so keep an eye out.

Handmade Birthday card

This past weekend we had a birthday party for a 2 year old.  This is the card I came up with for her.  I have seen a few different versions of this on the Demonstrator website that Stampin' Up! set up for us to share and get ideas.  I took a little from each, and adjusted it a bit.

Technique card idea

Inspired by Nature is a beautiful Stampin' Up! set.  It is a set that you can achieve some really creative cards and cool effects with.  This card sample that I got from the Stampin' Up! website uses both main images of the Flowers and the grasses in the background.  The artist of this card used the "direct to rubber" technique.  That is when you use a sponge with ink, or a marker to put color directly onto the rubber image.  Then stamp and you get a multicolored image, or a soft fade as on the petals of the flowers.

Monthly Demonstrator Meeting

I hold Meetings each month (right now I am doing every other month) for any of the people that have signed up to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator through me.  I just had that meeting for October. 

Since I had just been to Regionals in Maine, I had a lot of interesting projects to share.  Some I will have available to customers at events I will be having over the next few months.   Everyone was excited to learn the new projects.  They got a lot of "Oohs and Ahs". 

As I do at each meeting, I had a technique to share.  I also had a punch project which is something new that I now try to show at each meeting.  We had a card swap - which is a meeting tradition.  Each person makes multiples of the same card - enough for everyone that wants to swap.  Then each person leaves with a card idea from each person.  It is a great way to get new project ideas and see stamp sets used that you may not own.  It is always fun to see the beautiful creations that people come up with. 

These meetings end up being more than a class - for FREE.  Anyone that signs up to be a Demonstrator as part of my group, is welcome to attend.  If you are thinking of becoming a demonstrator, you can attend on of these events for free to check things out.  We'd love to have you join us.

Embossing and coloring in

This is a card that was in the Art Gallery section of my Stampin' Up! website ( I found it on the Demonstrator Section of the Stampin' Up! website)  For some reason, the site will not allow me to display an entire card.  For this card sample, it was the technique that caught my attention.  It looks different than other cards.  The flowers really jump off the page.  There are a few reasons for that.  The Biggest is that the flowers from Fifth Avenue Floral are embossed with Whisper White Embossing Powder.  From what I can tell, they were embossed on Barely Banana card stock, the same color the card itself is made out of.  The artist then colored the stamens in Ruby Red and used a sponge dauber to give color to the edges of the petals.  Against the white embossing, it is really stunning.

The flowers were cut out and layered over the leaves created with the Big Shot for Stampin' Up!  The die is a Stampin' Up! Exclusive Stampin' Up! Little Leaves.  The color and dimension of the leaves is the contrast the card idea needs.  It is such a nice card.

Branch Out - finishing touches

The last items I wanted to point out about this "Branch Out" card sample are what I also consider the finishing touches.  One is the grass area at the bottom of the Whisper White card stock with the tree image on it.  The artist used the "Ink Illusions" technique to create this effect.  You tear a piece of paper, lay it over your card stock leaving just the part you want green showing.  Sponge over the card stock and torn paper.  When you pick up the torn paper, you are left with this effect.  A bit of sponging was also done on the rest of the Whisper White card stock with a bit of Bashful Blue ink to give the sky effect.

The truly final finishing touch that I think is so subtle, but makes this card idea, is the tone on tone butterflies that are in the top left corner.  It is like the exclamation point at the end of a sentence, or more the kiss you seal an envelope with.  Perfect!
